IBM bought the consulting firm Salesforce 7Summits. The news was announced publicly in a statement posted online last Monday. According to Mark Foster, Senior Vice President of IBM Services, “ 7Summits is part of IBM's broader strategy of investing in ecosystem services and partnerships to enable digital transformations for customers. thanks to a hybrid cloud and artificial intelligence (AI) ”.
IBM also took the opportunity to announce its intention to invest more in the development of Salesforce products. Hiring, training, certifications of personnel are the key words of the IBM project over the next three years.
IBM announced the acquisition of 7Summits without giving details of the terms of the sale.

In the past, the new IBM subsidiary has already collaborated with renowned establishments such as Harvard, Mitsubishi Electric and Tenable. As a result of the merger, 7Summits will leverage its expertise within the growing Salesforce arm of IBM, according to Tyler Prince, executive vice president, Global Alliances and Channels, Salesforce.
“Our partner ecosystem is a driver of our growth, and adding 7Summits to IBM's rapidly growing Salesforce business will add even more value to our customers' digital transformations,” he said.
A merger viewed favorably
From Prince's perspective, IBM and 7Summits won't be the only ones to reap the benefits of the merger. The combination of the know-how of the two companies is also a boon for the partner companies which will be able to "keep up with the rapid evolution of customer expectations".
