How to find the favorite button on Twitter?

Twitter rolled out a new version of its web portal late yesterday afternoon. It brings few new things and it is finally satisfied to replace the favorites button by… a heart . This change was not particularly well received by Internet users but there is a trick to go back, provided you get your hands dirty.

Finally, it's a way of speaking because the procedure to follow is not necessarily very complicated. You just have to follow each step carefully.

There is a solution to fix the FavGate problem and it is not very complicated to set up.

The first thing you will need is an extension capable of modifying the appearance of the sites displayed by your browser. There are dozens of them on the market, but the most famous of all is Stylish .

No more #FavGate with Stylish!

The tool is fairly straightforward to use, but it also has the good idea of being available both on Chrome and both on Firefox . To install it, just follow one of these links from your browser and click on the button that's okay.

When this is done, a new icon will appear in the toolbar of your browser. Click on it and select the option “manage installed styles”. Stylish will open a new tab in your browser.

Then proceed by clicking on the “create a new style” button. It is placed in the left column. There, the extension will display an input frame on the right part of the window and you will simply have to paste this script in:

 .HeartAnimationContainer { visibility: hidden;
}
.HeartAnimationContainer: after { content: '⭐️'; visibility: visible; display: block; position: absolute;
}

This script should only apply to Twitter and there is no need to enable it for all the sites you visit. It will therefore be necessary to click on the “specify” button placed below the field and type the address of the service in the field dedicated to this purpose.

Select the “URL on domain” option from the drop-down list.

Now that you have created your new style, you will need to give it a name and save it. To do so, all you have to do is fill in the form field at the top of the left column and click on the “save” button.

Make sure the “enabled” box is checked.

Now return to Twitter.com. Miracle, the heart has given way to a star. The funniest part of the story is that you can use any emoji. You just have to go and copy the image of your choice by going to this page .

If that doesn't work, make sure the properties of these two styles are preceded by four spaces. Normally you should have this in Stylish:
