Announced at WWDC 2018, iOS 12 is the major new version of Apple's operating system. Unfortunately, the deployment of the stable version is scheduled for September, probably after the Keynote during which the next generations of iPhone and other products from the Cupertino-based company will be presented. In the meantime, the beta has just been made available to developers, with rollout to the general public scheduled for later this month.
However, we have to admit that some of us no longer support this waiting and are therefore looking for all the means to take advantage of iOS 12 now. If you are part of this category of users, this tutorial is for you !
Back up your data above all
Before going any further, note that this process is not authorized by Apple. The rules are subject to change at any time. We thus disclaim any liability in the event of a problem.
Also note the fact that as we are dealing with an unstable version of iOS 12 intended for developers, bugs may be present. Hence the importance of first backing up your data to iCloud or iTunes.
Indeed, after installation, you will always be able to revert to the stable version of iOS 11.4, but your files will be deleted!
Installing iOS 12 beta without a developer account
To get started, make sure you're using a compatible device. In fact, iOS 12 is supposed to be able to work on the following devices: iPhone 5s and later, all models of iPad Air and iPad Pro, iPad 5th generation, iPad mini 2 and later, and iPod touch 6th generation.
Then go to this link to install a developer profile and press the download button for iOS 12. Now all you have to do is hit “Install”. Note that the installation requires entering the password. After this phase, you will need to restart your device.
After restarting, go to "settings> general> software update" and check for updates. Next you'll find iOS 12.
Note that the file size varies depending on the device. Once the update has downloaded, press install and let the phone do its job on its own.
