How to prevent minors from accessing your Google+ pages?

Many people are predicting the tragic end of Google+ at the moment, but the main stakeholder does not seem to know and continues to deploy new features on his social network. The latest may also interest a lot of people since it will allow us to restrict access to our pages based on the age of Internet users, or their location.

I know what you are going to tell me. The primary purpose of a page is to be as visible as possible, right? In this case, what is the point of implementing this type of restriction?

How To Prevent Minors From Accessing Your Google Pages

You too kick the youth off your Google+ pages. BAND OF DRUGS DEPRAVES!

In fact, it all depends on the content being broadcast. If you are managing a page aimed at an adult audience, with pictures of naked women for example, it may be a good idea to ensure that minors cannot access it. The same goes for boxes that target a particular geographical area and that do not at all want to expand abroad and attract this type of audience.

But how do you put these restrictions in place?

It's not very complicated, actually. To get started, you'll need to go to Google+. There, well you will place the cursor of your mouse on the button located completely on the left, under the logo of the service.

The service will then list all the pages associated with your account. All you have to do then is click on the “Manage this page” button in the insert of your choice.

At this stage, you will end up with a page made up of several cards and grouping the module for posting a new publication and statistical modules related to your page, your site or your YouTube channel. The routine, in short, but the option that interests us is not here.

What you will have to do is click on the little nut located at the top of the page, to the right of the “Modify” button. Then, in the list, you will have to look for the “Parameters” option to find yourself on the page listing all the options associated with your content, a page structured around several distinct tabs, all located at the top.

The one that interests you is the “Audience” tab. It will return you to a new page and it is through this last that you will be able to set up your access restrictions.

If you want to prevent minors from accessing your content, it's not complicated, you will have to click on the “Target audience” list and then choose the appropriate option.

For geographic restrictions, it's a little more complicated and you will have to look for the “Customize” option in this same list. New criteria will then appear lower down on the page and you can for example define a minimum age of your choice, or add national parameters and thus define your target more precisely.

Okay, it's not super simple, but you're still going to have a lot of fun.
