How to use Inbox from Safari or Firefox?

Inbox has been available for a few weeks now, in the form of a mobile application and a web service. Great, but all is not rosy and it is unfortunately only available with a single browser, Chrome not to mention it. Fortunately, there is a very simple solution to enjoy it on Safari , Firefox and any other browser.

A relatively simple solution and within the reach of a large number of plugins since we will only have to modify the user agent of our browser to bypass the limitation put in place by Big G. The idea is obviously to pass it off as Chromium.

How To Use Inbox From Safari Or Firefox

Want to use Inbox on Safari or Firefox? It is perfectly possible!

There, everything will obviously depend on the browser you use.

Use Inbox with Safari

If you share your daily life with Safari (in my case) then know that you will not need to rack your brains to implement this solution. The latest version of Apple's browser does indeed have all the tools you need, so it can masquerade as any browser.

On the express condition of activating the right option, of course:

  • Open Safari.
  • Go to the “Safari” menu then to “Preferences”.
  • Click on the “Advanced” button.
  • Check the “Show Develop menu in menu bar” box.
  • Close the window.
  • Click on Safari's "Development" menu.
  • Place the mouse cursor over the “User Agent” menu.
  • Select the option “Chrome – Mac”.
  • Open a new tab.
  • Type "http://inbox.google.com" in the address bar.
  • It's over.

From there, you can access Inbox from your Safari without any limits, and thus take advantage of its many features. If you want to know more about what the platform offers, the best is still to read my test .

Use Inbox with Firefox

Rest assured right away because if the procedure is a little different with Firefox, it is not more complicated and everything will ultimately rely on the use of an extension that is particularly popular in the industry. An extension that you necessarily know because it is… User Agent Overrider . Well, at the same time there are a lot of others like that, eh, but they are not that easy to use.

And then ? This is what you need to do:

  • Launch Firefox.
  • Download and install User Agent Overrider.
  • No need to restart Firefox, it's magic.
  • Click on the new button located in the toolbar.
  • Select the “Mac / Chrome 34” option.
  • Type "http://inbox.google.com" in the address bar.
  • It's over.

Congratulations, now you will also be able to access Inbox from your Firefox. A true moment of grace, not to doubt it.

So of course, this method potentially works with all browsers on the market , but the method changes each time. If you want to do the same for another browser, just do a little Google search and you should quickly find what you're looking for.

Ah and if not I still have invitations for Inbox so if you want to try the adventure, just leave a little comment with your Gmail address. Be careful though because I don't have much left in stock.
