IOS 8 downgrade: how to (re) upgrade to iOS 7 without killing kittens

iOS 8 has been available since last Friday, and you may have updated your iPhone, iPod Touch, or iPad without taking my valuable advice into account. I don't congratulate you, of course, but know that all is not lost and it is actually perfectly possible to delete iOS 8 and revert to iOS 7.1.2 . And therefore to do a “downgrade” as our American friends say. How? 'Or' What ? This is precisely what we will see in this magnificent article.

First of all, be aware that this method will not work indefinitely. Far from it, even. If you want to go back to iOS 7, you might want to hurry because it will be too late afterwards. Finito! No more signatures!

Ios 8 Downgrade How To Re Upgrade To Ios 7 Without Killing Kittens

If you want to get rid of iOS 8, you won't have to delay.

Then, well it should also be specified that this ninja technique only works on terminals which have the right to run the previous version of the platform. It will therefore not work on an iPhone 6, or even on an iPhone 6 Plus. No arms, no chocolate.

The palm of the hand technique

Now that everything's clear between us, it's time to get down to business and get started. Be aware that this method is not very complicated, so no need to stick an ulcer.

Just follow these steps:

  • Download the version of iOS 7.1.2 corresponding to your iPhone / iPod / iPad.
  • Deactivate the Find My Phone service on your device.
  • Connect it to your computer.
  • Launch iTunes.
  • Go to the page dedicated to your device.
  • Hold down the Option key on your keyboard.
  • Click the "Restore" button.
  • Go find the file you downloaded above.
  • Click the "Open" button.
  • A message appears on the screen, asking you to validate your choice.
  • Click the "Restore" button.
  • Wait patiently for the operation to complete.

When that's done, you'll end up with an iPhone, iPod Touch, or iPad running iOS 7.1.2, like nothing has happened and like you've never installed iOS 8 on it.

Personally, for a while, I thought about installing iOS 8 on my girl's iPhone 4s but the effects of the drugs wore off before it was too late so I didn't have a chance to test this method.

However, I had done it the time before on an iPhone 4, without any problem. The only thing a little heavy is that the Bitten Apple will not keep the signatures that are going well indefinitely and that is ultimately the most regrettable thing in history.
