Netflix has just announced some very bad news. As of June, the application available on the Wii U and Nintendo 3DS will permanently stop working.
To extend its hegemony across the globe, Netflix has chosen to be present on as many platforms as possible. Far from being limited to our televisions, the application is therefore available on our smartphones, on our touch pads, but also on some of our consoles.
The PlayStation and Xbox are of course among the lucky ones, but they are not the only ones.
As of June 30, Netflix will no longer work on the Wii U and Nintendo 3DS
If Netflix is still not available on the Switch, it has been several years since owners of a Nintendo 3DS or a Wii U can enjoy it on these platforms.
Offered through the integrated application store, the firm's application also has the merit of being intelligent and well thought out, with an interface clear enough to be used by a child.
Unfortunately, all good things come to an end and nothing is truly forever.

The app has been removed from the stores
As proof, Netflix has announced through a press release its intention to put an end to these two applications. From June 30, it will therefore no longer be possible to launch the brand's application on the Wii U and Nintendo 3DS.
To support his point, Netflix removed the tool from the application stores of both platforms this morning. However, the latter will continue to operate until the end of June in order to give users time to switch to other products.
As to whether these apps will be replaced with a Switch-compatible tool, that's a whole other debate. For the time being, the principal concerned has not made any statement in this direction.
