While the new generation of console made its arrival some time ago, all expectations are still now directed towards this new year 2021 with the promise of new big releases and exclusives. If Sony had been full of weighty announcements when announcing its new PlayStation 5 console, we are finally learning a little more about the release windows for many of these titles through a new trailer presented at during the virtual conference of the Japanese firm at the Consumer Electronics Show on January 12.
On the program, a busy year 2021 and news from the Japanese blockbusters Project Athia and Pragmata .
Nothing is well formalized by the official communication channels of Capcom, but it seems that the next big blockbuster of the studio Pragmata will not be at the rendezvous initially planned for the year 2022. To believe the indications displayed at the end of the trailer, Pragmata – which is scheduled for release on PS5 but also on Xbox Series and PC consoles – will finally arrive with a fairly significant delay in 2023. It is not difficult to imagine the production of the project – necessarily very ambitious – undermined by the current health crisis caused by the COVID-19 epidemic.
Full agenda for 2021
Several exclusive titles for the PlayStation 5 console have also seen their release window announced for the very first time or simply confirmed: the lombax-robot pair from Ratchet & Clank: Rift Apart will arrive in the course of 2021 while Returnal , the TPS sci-fi de Housemarque, will arrive on March 19, 2021. Microsoft's takeover of Bethesda will not affect the exclusive agreement between Tango Frameworks and Sony for GhostWire: Tokyo – the first-person action adventure game will remain the exclusive console prerogative on the PS5 for a year after its release in October 2021.
Luminous Productions' very mysterious Project Athia is now expected in exactly one year, with a date now set for January 2022. Square Enix publishes this cryptic new game from Final Fantasy XV teams with the promise of showing the technological breadth offered by the Luminous Engine in-house game engine.
Finally, we summarize the other confirmations announced for cross-gen games also planned for PlayStation 4:
Horizon Forbidden West , 2021
Kena: Bridge of Spirits , March 2021
Solar Ash , June 2021
Little Devil Inside , July 2021
Stray , October 2021
