The 16-inch MacBook Pro has been a hit with the press since last year and not a week goes by without a new rumor reminding us of it. After the leak spotted in the latest version of macOS , it's DigiTimes' turn to come back to the computer.
Apple is up to something. If the 16-inch MacBook Pro ordered to be talked about last year, it is clear that the rumors are racing.
And that can only mean one thing: product presentation is fast approaching.
A 16-inch MacBook Pro for late October
However, according to Digitimes, the 16-inch MacBook Pro would be completely finalized and its presentation should therefore occur shortly. Our colleagues are indeed talking about a launch planned for the end of the month, and therefore in ten days at most.
Of course, Digitimes has not always been reliable in the past, but this is not the first time that this date is mentioned and there is therefore a good chance that the presentation of the new MacBook Pro will be no more than the last. 'matter of a few days.
Relatively close to the current model, the 16-inch MacBook Pro should still bring a little something new to Apple's formula.
For starters, the on-board screen would no longer be limited to 15 inches and would reach 16 inches diagonally. This should not mean an increase in the size and volume of the chassis, however. The firm would indeed have cut back on the edges surrounding the panel to save space and be able to fit a larger screen on board his computer.
New screen, new keyboard and new technical sheet? (with a new price too?)
The other major novelty would relate to the keyboard. Apple would have finally decided to draw a line on the butterfly keyboard in favor of a scissor keyboard. This term relates to the architecture of the keys. On butterfly keyboards, two pieces are placed under the keys, like the wings of a butterfly. On chisel keyboards the mechanism is a bit different and these two parts are nested within each other.
The advantage of the butterfly keyboard are its dimensions. It makes it possible to reduce the stroke of the keys and therefore to reduce the space occupied by the keyboard. On the other hand, it is more prone to fouling, which has prompted Apple to offer two major developments. The most recent was released by the MacBook Pro at the start of the year and it seems quite effective if we are to believe the first feedback from users.
