Windows 10 is fast approaching and Microsoft continues to prepare for its arrival. Proof of this is that the firm has just updated its store, with a major novelty: the arrival of films and series.
The Windows Store will play the unification card. It will no longer be necessary to jump from store to store to find the right fit since all the applications and games developed for our computers and mobile terminals will be grouped together in one place.
It will be easier for the user, of course, but also for publishers and developers.
A unified store for all our content
However, Microsoft does not intend to limit itself to software. Far from it, even, and he just proved it by updating his shop. If you have installed the Windows 10 Technical Preview on your computer and then launch the Windows Store, then you will notice the presence of a new tab, a tab designated by the label… “Movies and TV” .
Hard to be simpler, right?
Certainly, but the paint is still fresh and this page is not yet active everywhere. If the tab appears well at home, it returns to a blank page indicating that the content is not yet available.
It is obviously possible that the same applies to you, but the problem should be solved fairly quickly. If we are to believe the note posted by Brandon LeBlanc on one of Microsoft's blogs, then the rollout of this column would still be underway and it should be completed no later than tomorrow night.
Anyway, from my point of view, this is a particularly smart initiative. Especially since this unified store will not be limited to our computers, our smartphones and our hybrid machines. No, the Xbox One should also benefit from it and the company will also go the extra mile to make our lives as easy as possible.
Ah and for those who would ask the question, a second tab will be deployed in the coming weeks for… music.
