The iPhone 6s , iPhone 6s Plus and iPhone Se of 2016 could soon become obsolete, at least if we are to believe our colleagues from the iPhoneSoft site. Apple would indeed intend to do without their services and no longer support them with iOS 15.
Apple is one of those rare manufacturers who make sure to make new versions of their platforms backward compatible with their old devices.
The best example remains that of iOS 14 which can be installed on a wide variety of devices and which even supports devices such as the iPhone 6s or the 7th generation iPod Touch.
iOS 15 will not support all iPhones
Devices which have, in this case and for the example given, more than 5 years.
However, it also eventually happens that this backward compatibility can no longer apply and this is precisely what is likely to happen with the next version of the platform, iOS 15.
Quoting a developer friend working for Apple, a friend working on the Plans application, iPhoneSoft indeed specifies in an article published yesterday that three devices will no longer be supported by iOS 15, namely the iPhone 6s, the iPhone 6s and the first generation iPhone SE.
A difficult choice, but necessary to be able to offer the novelties that the firm concocts for us.

IPhone 6s and 1st generation iPhone SE left in the dark
On the other hand, for the following generations, no problem, they should all be able to benefit from iOS 15. This goes for the iPhone 7, for the iPhone 7 Plus, for the iPhone 8, for the iPhone 8 Plus, for iPhone X, for iPhone XS, for iPhone XS Max, for iPhone Xr, for iPhone 11, for iPhone SE of 2020, and for iPhone 12. As usual , the iPhone 13 should be delivered directly with the platform.
We should also expect changes on the iPad side.
Once again, iOS 15 would mark the end of support for several devices, namely the iPad 5, iPad Air 2 and iPad Mini 4. On the other hand, the platform should work on iPad Mini 5, iPad 6, iPad 7 , iPad 8, iPad Air 3, iPad Air 4, 11-inch iPad Pro, 12.9-inch iPad Pro and even on 10.5-inch iPad Pro.

Our colleagues do not however specify the novelties that will be brought by this new version. We will therefore have to wait for WWDC 2021 or the inevitable rumors that will precede it to know a little more about what Apple has prepared for us.
